Farms hold a special fascination for children. There are countless farm inspired toys; toy barns with hay lofts, small fences to provide enclosures for animals, the animals themselves in wood or plastic and a variety of ride-on tractors, all provide little children the props with which they can be farmers.
For the littlest tots the foot-on-floor variety of ride-on tractor provides the most stability. The tractor's speed is limited by the little farmer's own power and it is far less likely that the tractor will escape him. The John Deere 6920 sports identical features to the Kid Tractor with the addition of a heavy-duty front axle with suspension system and an adjustable seat.

Also popular are ride-on tractors with the addition of front-loading buckets. The red Rocket Max features a bright yellow front loading bucket, while the yellow CAT tractor from Rolly Toys is similar with the exception that in addition to a front bucket, this tractor also has a rear excavator.
For some though, the perfect ride-on tractor stops at nothing short of a battery-powered one. Good examples of battery-powered tractors are the Peg Perego Farm Animals Tractor and Trailer and the Mamas & Papas John Deere Ground Force tractor. Powered by a 6V battery, the Pege Perego tractor has a single speed and comes with an included trailer. The Mamas & Papas tractor is powered by a 12V battery, has two forward speeds and a reverse, as well as an adjustable seat, an FM radio and an included trailer.
Pedal tractors come in a large variety of forms and there are tractors suitable for tiny tots aged just 12 months as well as older children aged 5 and over. From foot-on-floor models to pedal-powered and even battery-powered models, there is certain to be a ride-on tractor for all budding farmers!
