The gaming wheel hasn’t been out for a very long time, and Logitech had a remarkable attempt with its G25 version. So the question was raised- is the new G27 substantially better than the G25 model it replaces. So, here’s what I found experts and gaming fanatics had to say.
Logitech G27- Features
The dual motor force feedback system on the steering wheel means that turns of the wheel are very smooth compared to the older G25 wheel. This means for more accurate and slicker moves on the track. The steering wheel is made in such a way that it simulates the feeling of real weight shift, traction loss, and road. The wheel has a complete 900 degree motion turning direction.

For some serious fun and challenge, the package comes with a six speed manual shifter. Off course, this makes the driving a whole lot more fun, especially if you compare trying to use random buttons on a control pad instead.
In addition to the gear selector, paddle shifters can be used instead for super quick changes. To ensure you’re eyes are well on the road, LED lights at the top of the steering wheel are used for shift advice.
The wheel itself measures around 11 inches, and the leather wrapped finish adds to the realism in terms of looks. Logitech even wrapped the gear selector in quality black leather for realistic feel. Steel is used on the three pedals that come with this set. The pedals are all weighted differently to accurately reflect pedals of a real stick shift.
To ensure things don’t move around on the desk during game play, both the gear selector and the steering wheel can be temporary affixed to your table. The pedal system grips the ground nicely and also features a optional spike system for use on carpet so your pedals don’t get pushed away during game play.

The Advantages
- Realistic Look- There’s no denying that the quality of finish in the G27 is really good. The combination of red and black is superb, and leather and steel seals the deal and gives the entire racing wheel and other parts the look necessary to get any racing enthusiast excited.
- Performance of the components- Aesthetics aside, the most important component to a gaming module such as this is how good it feels and acts during game play. This Logitech is certainly on the money with great performance.
- Quiet in Operation- Compared to other similar consoles including the outgoing G25, the Logitech G27 is exceptionally smooth in both steering and gearing.
- Pedal Feel- The pedals and the feel are a definite strong point to this package. Each pedal can be adjusted in accordance with the other and as per a gamer’s convenience. The feel of the pedal is very decent too.
- Gear Shifter- Although the shifter feels light, it has a decisive feel to it. You can easily get the hang of this shifter, like a lot of users have.
Minuses of the G27
- A lot of wires- The layout of the whole Logitech G27 has been criticized, especially given the presence of so many wires.

The Logitech G27 racing wheel is an improvement on the G25 in many ways, and a good successor as well.
