The first thing you do in replacing your steering column is buy the appropriate kit from the local supplier or retail car repair outlet. Make sure you get the right column for the make and model. Turn off the airbag in the controls adhering to maker instructions, if the airbag exists. Straighten the front wheels and secure the steering column into position. Take away the airbag element. Remove the steering wheel by lifting away from the center cover, disconnecting the horn wire and detaching the retaining nut and washer.
