Mater Tractor Tipping Game

Reviewing The Cars Game For Wii
Video games that are based on child-themed movies don't usually cause much of a stir from the hardcore gamer community, but Cars, from Pixar, was a better movie than most. With Rainbow Studios at the developmental forefront, the Cars game for the Wii console is actually a wonderful software title. The Wii controller follows the pace set by the Cars series on other platforms, but is sometimes held back a bit by the very technology that is supposed to enhance and define its features; motion control.
The Wii game controller is a bit difficult to use in the Cars game, and if you have the Wheel Wii accessory, you may enjoy game play more. You hit D-pad direction to power slide, and hold the 2 button for gas. The brake is located at the A button. As a game targeted for younger kids, the difficulty level is pretty low. However, the generous doses of humor and seamless flow in the story mode, along with colorful visuals make this game a good play for just about anyone.
Multiplayer mode has only decent game play; it's pretty average among racing games. It's true that without a story tying the concepts together and an open world to blow the doors off, race courses just start to blend together over time. A few more creative matches that take advantage of the bigger worlds would have been nice for the Wii format.
As racing games go for the Wii console, racing ports won't get any better than the Wii Cars game. That's more of a stripe against the platform than a boost to the game. Using the remote to steer is never going to be as accurate or as smooth as an analog stick or Wheel Wii accessory. Developers rarely have time to maneuver around that in clever and inventive ways when porting the game from other platforms.
