Lawn Tractor Smoking Oil
I have a john deer gx345 lawn tractor that just will not start?
for a while now it has been doing this thing where it will be going along and it will just stop. now it wont even start. I have tried replacing the spark plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, draining fuel, and cleaning the air filter. every time I did one of those it would start nicely after that but quickly stop and not start again. A lot of white smoke comes out the exhaust pipe and it smells very bad, not just like gasoline but different and worse.

You might have one or even two problems here. You did not mention if there was any tapping sounds from the engine, or if you used a stabilizing fluid in the fuel such as Sta-Bil.
Any way, to my mind this is electrical. The ignition module is overheating and must be changed.
