Adjusting the mowing deck?
I have a 26 HP Craftsman Lawn Tractor w/54" deck. I cut on setting #5 and use #6 to clear obstacles. You can't lower below #4 due to front guide wheel, which makes settings 1 - 3 useless. Question is - If I change height of the wheel(s), can I make the deck height on #5 work in #1 or #2 and allow me to raise the deck a couple inches higher if in 5 or 6.
The Sears service guy says it can't be done, but it appears it could be, he just doesn't want to do it.
What do you think?
yes the deck wheels and rollers should have adjustment holes to move the deck higher or lower.and there may be a deck adjuster by your left foot when you're on the mower that screws in or out to allow more adjustment.hope this helps.
