Is A Home In The Mountains What You Really Want?
There are certain places that people routinely fall in love with. One of these places is the mountains. A mountain view can truly take your breath away. The question becomes of course whether that view is worth year round habitation. Perhaps the mountains have been trying to welcome you home. How is the Home Erected?
How the home is erected is very crucial to mountain life. Often these homes need to be designed to allow for second floor entrances. The second story should have a viable entrance and exit point in case of emergency. Another great thing to find is an attached garage. Walking through the garage into your house certainly sounds more comfortable than racing through a storm to get to your front door.
Consider The Shape of the Area
Another aspect that you will want to look at very carefully is the topography of your lot. Your property will probably see some sort of elevation change. This can be important when you are considering such things as landslides, or even simple rainstorms. What is the location of the house? Does it's position make it vunerable to avalances? Or perhaps the land underneath the house will not be as stable if a flash flood races through your yard. The topography will also indicate how you will get around your property, and whether four wheeled driving will be a neccesary skill.
The Nature of Building Material is Important
The mountain home is required to be put together with materials that will withstand the fierceness of the mountain weather. Mountains are not entirely known for their calm and serene weather patterns. So if you are looking at a house, make sure the materials used during construction are rated to withstand what nature can throw at them.
Living on a side of a mountain isn't the best thing for everyone.. Mountains are known for their majestic beauty, and dynamic living conditions, something which not everyone can become accustomed to. But if you're willing to accept all that, the moutain life will become more enjoyable through the years to come.
