Understanding What Is Really Meant By A Classified Used Car Ad
You might think that classified ads for used cars say very little, but this can be a misconception. A lot of people fail to read them properly and this means that they go and view cars that are not appropriate. Looking carefully at these ads for used cars can usually save you a bit of time and bother. When it comes to used car ads, the list below shows some of the things you need to be looking at.
- You will probably see code when it comes to the description of the car's condition such as 'G COND' for good condition or 'EX COND' for excellent condition. If the car has 'CLN' this is means 'clean' which is meant to imply that it is in fairly good condition. Remember that when it comes to describing their cars, most people tend to be extra positive about them and this means that should you see anything that does not have at least G COND, then it might be worth avoiding. Mind you, the words CLN might mean that you can get a good bargain.
- Most sellers who put the letters OBO (or best offer) or ONO (or nearest offer) will have included a price in the ad which is the maximum they are hoping to get for the car and they are not even expecting to get this much as they will assume that you will haggle with them.
- When you see STD it means standard transmission and this should be avoided if you are really looking for an automatic. Instead look for ads with the letters A/T.
- Sometimes the ads will mention briefly why the owner is selling. It is a good sign if they have written 'owner moving abroad' because that means that they have a genuine reason for selling the car.
- If the ad does not say where the seller is located then have a look at the telephone code to get an idea. A lot of people waste money phoning people who live too far away.
Whenever you happening to be looking for used cars, you may end up much better off by thoroughly researching the cars that interest you. Good research lets you find only the best models available.
